Dear Fellow South Carolinians,
To paraphrase President Trump, they’re coming for your money, and I am in their way.
For years, I have been honored to serve you—not the entrenched political elites or special interests. You have entrusted me with managing and safeguarding your hard-earned money, and I am deeply grateful for that trust.
Protecting South Carolina’s finances is no small task. Every day, we face threats from scammers, hackers, greedy investment firms, and woke big banks.
But right now, the greatest threat to our state’s financial stability isn’t external: it’s from power- hungry politicians who never rest in their relentless, politically motivated attacks on my office.
For the last two years, a Senate subcommittee has waged a campaign of slander and libel against me and my office. They have pushed my dedicated staff to the brink of exhaustion while putting our state’s financial health at risk—all for their political advantage.
And just like President Trump, I won’t let them win; I simply won’t stop fighting these entrenched politicians. That’s why I am running for reelection.
This attack isn’t just politics as usual—it’s undermining our state’s financial reputation, raising taxpayer costs, and jeopardizing our ability to attract job-creating industries.
This is not about good governance—it’s about a power grab by a few who seek to control tens of billions of public dollars for their own special interests. They don’t want an elected State Treasurer who answers to the people. They want an appointed Treasurer they can control.
I am running for reelection to protect your hard-earned tax dollars and to ensure that you have a State Treasurer who works for you—not a Senate subcommittee of eight politicians.
I’m also running again so I can stand with the House of Representatives and the Governor who support the voters’ right to choose their State Treasurer and against those who want to appoint and control them.
Thank you for your continued trust and support. Together, we can continue to safeguard your money and South Carolina’s financial future.
Sincerely,
Curtis M. Loftis, Jr.
Your State Treasurer
